The full-time scoreline may not have gone our way, but for once, we didn’t mind too much, having already secured the County League Division 1 title on Friday night.
The game against Spa was a competitive encounter, but we found it difficult to recover after conceding two early goals. Things could have been worse were it not for some excellent saves from Kieran Fitzgibbon in goal. At half-time, the visitors led by 2-09 to 0-09.
The second half brought a much-improved performance from Shamrocks, and we managed to reduce the deficit to just a single point. However, despite our best efforts, we couldn’t find the score needed to earn a share of the spoils.

Following the game, Stephen O’Brien, captain of our senior footballers for 2026, accepted the Division 1 shield on behalf of the players, management, and supporters.
